Ohio Governor John Kasich Signs $71B Budget
0Ohio Governor John Kasich failed to stand up for women when he signed new abortion restrictions hidden in the State Budget into law last night. His $71 billion budget includes women’s healthcare regulations that are completely unrelated to the state’s finances, along with others. Despite the efforts of Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, and that of our TSF members who were present in Columbus last night, the governor couldn’t be swayed to line-item veto the restrictive regulations. 0Politicians have the right to believe whatever they want. But let me be clear on this next statement. They do not have the right to impose that belief on everyone else! I bring this up for several reasons. Since the Supreme Court’s ruling on the constitutionality of same-sex unions, several Tri-State area court clerks, including Boone County Clerk Kenny Brown, have stopped issuing marriage licenses because it goes against their personally held religious beliefs.
