At Tristate Freethinkers, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside the world-famous Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, and we eagerly anticipate future collaborations. Members of our organization have dedicated their time to volunteering and supporting this beloved local institution.
The Zoological Society of Cincinnati, established in 1873, opened the doors of the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden officially in 1875, making it the second oldest zoo in the United States. In its early days, the zoo’s animal collection was humble, comprising just a few monkeys, bears, deer, raccoons, elk, buffalo, hyena, tiger, alligator, circus elephant, and a multitude of birds, including a remarkable talking crow. Originally situated on 65 acres in the heart of the city, the zoo has since expanded, acquiring surrounding blocks and additional reserves in the suburbs of Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden holds a special place in our community, captivating visitors with its rich history and remarkable array of wildlife and botanical wonders. It serves as a hub of education, conservation, and entertainment, fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world.
By volunteering our time and lending support, we contribute to the mission of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, promoting conservation efforts, education, and the well-being of the diverse species under their care. Our collaboration with this esteemed institution aligns with our values, as we strive to make a positive impact on our environment and cultivate a society that values scientific knowledge and empathy towards all living beings.
We are proud to work alongside the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, and we are excited for the future opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we can continue to inspire, educate, and protect the magnificent wildlife and natural beauty that make our world so extraordinary.
